Overview

Throughout the planning process there will be opportunities for stakeholders to participate including community meetings, site walks and rides, walking ambassadors in the IMD, and a public open house that will take place after the final report has been drafted.

Safety in the IMD

Safety is at the core of the BPSAP. To the right is a map of over 30 incidents, including serious injury crashes and deaths, since 2019. It will be important during the planning process to evaluate these locations as well as any interactions between transportation modes for improvements to enhance the safety of the IMD.

Planning Process

The BPSP was initiated in early 2023 and is anticipated to last through fall 2023. During that time, the project team will work closely with users of local infrastructure, the project Working Group, community organizations, governmental institutions, local elected officials and other key anchor institutions to review current conditions and needs in the District to develop and identify sites of improvement and a series of alternatives. Public input is highly encouraged. Throughout the planning process there will be opportunities for stakeholders to participate that include frequent user meetings, neighboring institutions meetings, two non-targeted engagement/pop-up activities and a public open house that will take place after the final report has been drafted.
